Effective LinkedIn outreach: how AlgOps targets high-impact decision-makers

Introduction

This case study delves into how we, at AlgOps, apply our own strategies to enhance LinkedIn outreach. Since this website already details our company’s work, we’ll focus directly on our approach. While the process of selecting companies is consistent with methods described in case studies like Langtail and Dream.jobs, this study emphasizes our targeted approach to engaging people—a topic we haven’t explored in depth here yet.

Challenge

LinkedIn is arguably the best platform to connect with digital-savvy CEOs, CROs, and CSOs—our top three buying personas. However, both LinkedIn and AlgOps discourage spamming, and we want to avoid any risk of being banned. Building a high-volume outreach pipeline isn’t effective on LinkedIn. Instead, it’s crucial to identify and engage only the most relevant accounts.

Solution

We maintain and regularly update targeted account lists for each of our use cases and case studies. This targeted approach also extends to individuals. We monitor the follower and connection counts of potential decision-makers to gauge their LinkedIn activity and tailor our actions accordingly. We also refine our messaging by analyzing their “About” sections and job descriptions. Once we’ve identified the right person to contact (approximately 2-5% of our prospects), we invest the same level of effort in crafting follow-up messages as we do in creating the initial outreach. We monitor not only their LinkedIn posts and activity but also company-level signals, assigning the most relevant signals to the appropriate person.

Results

To keep it brief: Implementing this approach would require 3 full-time employees (FTEs) to replicate manually. As a result, we achieve a return on investment (ROI) of approximately 750%. Additionally, this method saves significant time for Lukas (owner), enabling him to focus on meaningful conversations.
